But why is it so important?

To get a better understanding of the word ‘punctuality,’ it is important to first take a look at its origin, its meaning, and how it is used nowadays.

The word punctuality comes from the Latin word ’punctum’ meaning ‘a point,’ and by the late 17th century this had progressed into ‘punctual.’ So punctuality describes the fact or quality of being on time as taken from the Oxford Dictionary.

Getting back to the first question, what exactly is the importance of punctuality? Because, punctuality describes much more than the fact or quality of being on time, this word has power and says a lot about people and companies.

But does that explain why is it important? Well, perhaps this quote can: “The habit of being prompt, once formed, extends to everything — meeting friends, paying debts, going to church, reaching and leaving the place of business, keeping promises, retiring at night and rising in the morning, going to the lecture and town-meeting, and, indeed, to every relation and act, however trivial it may seem to observers.” –William Makepeace Thayer, Tact and Grit, 1882.

With that in mind, just take a minute to imagine how an airline or airport would work if they were always late with their operations. Unimaginable, right? Yet, this applies to any industry regardless of what a company’s core business is and the implications to both cost and image are staggering.

Many companies worldwide opt to outsource processes and activities necessary to optimize and reduce their time to market. That way they can easily focus on their core business and achieve whatever their goals are to be able to be on time with their clients.

But wait, what happens when outsourcing software providers also aren’t on time? The results previously mentioned won’t vary! Our SVP, Thomas Moore says: ‘’Right now the biggest challenge for many companies is understanding the values of being on time and on target.’’

At TEAM International we absolutely understand this and so, our solutions are more than just software outsourcing; it’s an alignment of experience, advanced technology, and a progressive business model built with a company’s business needs in mind.

As a way to prove it, TEAM has been included on IAOP’s Global Outsourcing 100 list for 2018, for the 8th year in a row. This and several other facts, demonstrate our capabilities and the adoption of ‘’being on time and on target’’ as our core values, and of course, our internal improvement work that assures we will be there whenever our customers need it.

These values must be embraced if companies want to succeed and nowadays enterprise decision-makers know that. They know that time is money, and more money means easier ways to find tools to improve processes and operations – all to get higher rates of growth and development. So, do you still wonder if outsourcing and punctuality is the key?
