Industry Challenge
Fragmented Systems and Data Silos: Hospitals use a mix of legacy and specialized systems. This fragmented ecosystem makes it difficult to centralize data, ensure real-time visibility, and coordinate care across departments, resulting in operational inefficiencies and missed opportunities for proactive patient management.
Inefficient Resource Allocation Due to Disconnected Staffing and Equipment Data: With growing pressure on clinical staff and physical resources, hospitals struggle to match demand with availability in real time. This fragmented ecosystem makes it difficult to centralize data, ensure real-time visibility, and coordinate care across departments.

Project Scope
Modernize and scale a Real-Time Location System (RTLS) platform to improve hospital operations and patient care. The solution integrates device tracking, IoT sensors, geo-location, and shift management into a single, user-centric platform. A key objective was to enable real-time and historical visualization of assets, equipment, staff, and infrastructure usage—helping healthcare providers make faster, smarter decisions.
As part of a broader digital transformation strategy, Team International worked hand-in-hand with the client to embed the solution within their operational workflows, ensuring scalability, security, and ease of adoption.

Business Challenges
Lack of unified visibility over critical hospital resources
No centralized way to access or interpret IoT data in real time
Manual processes that slowed down shift planning and asset tracking
Fragmented data sources that hindered reporting and performance monitoring
The need to embed this capability into an existing application without disrupting operations
Our Solution
Team International delivered a fully embedded data platform powered by Power BI and Google Cloud. Our cross-functional team integrated backend engineering, cloud architecture, and advanced analytics to develop a solution that transforms how hospitals manage their operations.
Key components of the solution included:
REST APIs to extract data from IoT devices and hospital systems
ETL pipelines built with Python, Pandas, and Numpy to clean, structure, and enrich the data
Data modeling and storage with Google BigQuery and event handling via Pub/Sub
Scheduled automation through Cloud Functions to ensure timely data refresh
Integration with Microsoft Azure App Registration to enable secure access within third-party systems
Development of dynamic dashboards in Power BI tailored to hospital-specific KPIs and workflows
The platform was designed to support real-time decision-making and embedded directly into the client’s main application, allowing staff to access actionable insights without changing their workflows.
